So, I was on a job site and they had to dispense 70,000 sausage packs. A sausage pack is 20 ounces, which is double what a regular cartridge is. So think about that: 70,000 sausages. And if you don’t have the right tool, or it’s not a quality tool, or both, you’re going to be struggling doing that job, right? And that’s where we come in with high-quality tools. We have manual, cordless, and pneumatic options. We offer different drive systems to best fit the application.

We have a contract with Penn this summer to work on 19 buildings throughout their campus doing maintenance work. So we’re just repointing some of the bricks, resealing some of the sealant joints, re-caulking the capstones, and then sealing around our repairs. We use Albion all the time. Yes, I do have a lot of Albion tools—a lot of their caulk knives and caulking guns. Their caulking guns are excellent, good quality, and the slickers—the guys love their slickers. I probably wouldn’t even suggest any other companies.

We’re at trade shows and contractors will come up to us and say, “We’ve had this gun for 20 years.” And they buy replacement parts. That’s Albion. It’s the quality of the tool. The difference between us and the competition is that we take great pride in the quality and are constantly improving it.

I think it’s the consistency of how the material flows and how easy it is to pump. The pull is consistent. There’s none of that cheap clicking you get with something disposable. It’s the quality of the gun. Contractors know that when they get that gun, they can use it all day. It’ll last through the job, and it’ll last 20 years. All they need to do is take care of it. If they know how to use and clean the gun, it will last forever. They know it’s quality.

We have people out there who have guns from when their parents were in the industry as general contractors. They bought a gun from Albion, and now their kids own that same gun. It’s about the lifetime of the tool. At this point, it’s almost like an heirloom.

From years of experience and helping my dad as a kid, he always had Albion tools. It’s just kind of been in, you could say, our family.

A good caulk gun makes a big difference from the box to the job site. It has to work, and it works well.
