- product durability
What would damage this type of material ? Solid Teflon® construction enables low-friction dispensing. Higher in cost, easily damaged if not well cared for.
[ALBION]: Solid Teflon (r) pistons can be bent if at the end of your sausage pack or bulk load you deadhead or repeatedly ram the piston into the font of the gun. Especially with a powered gun.
- Cost versus ease of damaging
I've been caulking with your electric gun for over a year and a half I think the electric gun is a very well performing applicator but I do have a huge problem with your Teflon plunger for something that cost $30 it should not be as easily damaged or deformed under use. The type of forces that this applicator is exerting on that plunger it should definitely be much more resistant to deforming or damage and at $30 I think that's a bit steep price for a component that is very likely to get damaged.
[ALBION]: Ozzie: Yes, the Teflon piston can be damaged if it is deadheaded at the end of a sausage pack or bulk load. The piston is expensive because they are labor-intensive to machine. But, with careful use they will last a long time.
